Remembering

I remember long ago being at grandma Pairoleros old house in Ramsay, Uncle Doug was there so was the rest of the family. Uncle Doug and I were outside, dont remember exactly what I was doing but Uncle Doug was smoking a big cigar and of course I was curious, and wondered what a cigar was like, well Uncle gave me a taste of it and instructed me exactly how to take a small puff of it and then inhale, which I did, as I sat there coughing and choking He looked at me and said Let that be a lesson to never start smoking. I gladly agreed, there were so many great memories of Uncle Doug, he was the life of the entire family, his laugh was unmistakable. The best mentor a young teen llike myself could have.

I am in my 50s now and I did start smoking at age 20 and for 7 years I smoked, then one day I remembered that cigar incident and just threw them away, have not touched one since.

Thank You Uncle Doug, you will be missed.
