Joseph A. Peltier, 83, a resident of Calumet, Michigan; passed away Thursday July 9, 2015 at U.P. Health System Marquette.
Joseph was born September 4, 1931 in Copper City, Michigan, son of the late Joseph and Eva (Roberts) Peltier.
On October 15, 1969 he married the love of his life Helen Theis who preceded him in death on March 5, 1987.
Joseph worked for 19 years as a grounds keeper at the Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee. He is a proud Korean Veteran, where he earned 3 bronze stars for 3 major battles with the United States Army.
He loved to watch the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Pistons.
He also loved to dance in his younger years and he could polka and waltz with the best of them.
Preceding him in death was his: parents, wife Helen, brothers Gregory, Donald, David, Jerome, sisters Deloris Huuki, Theresa Syers, Rose Maki, Evelyn Rice, Katherine Cox.
Surviving are: his Brother Robert Peltier of Calumet and Sister Carol (Roman) Hoffman of Calumet. His friend and campanion Violet the cat.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 12, 2015 at 1-2PM at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2:00PM with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate.
Burial with Military Honors will be held next week in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
