Obituary for Lorette Marilyn Haralson

Lake Linden
Lorette Haralson, age 80, of Lake Linden passed away at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility on Monday, May 8, 2017.
She was born on November 14, 1936 in Detroit, a daughter of the late Peter and Toini (Harju) Karvonen.
On December 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ray Haralson.
She attended and graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1954.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church.
Lorette and Ray lived in numerous places around the Midwest following his job, but her heart was always in the Keweenaw. After retirement in the early 90’s the couple built a home in Lake Linden where they would remain. Lorette liked to sew and in her younger days enjoyed playing the banjo. She also spent time tutoring English and the American way to the Chinese students from Michigan Tech. She was a quick witted, generous hearted lady with a great sense of humor.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Ray.
Surviving are: 2 Daughters Amy (Kurt) Kleine of Greenfield, Indiana and Beth (Michael) Callahan of Indianapolis, Indiana
2 Grandchildren: Benjamin and Michael Kleine. Numerous cousins and a lot of good friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk with Pastor Tim Johnston to officiate.
Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church at 85 6th St, Mohawk, MI 49950
